In that muggy time of year
Tide pool swirls up free and clear
Water falls they scream out loud
Collective memories from the cloud
Dressed in rainbow oil streaks
Concrete puddles drip from beaks
A cannonball of thunder clap
And flash bulb shadows echo back
Running fast in rusty pipes
Industrial ponds still at night
Lifetimes gathered a drop at a time
Evaporation is how we fly
Who knows
Who flows

best of me
03:18
|

I’m still waiting for the best of me
I’ll find ways to complicate things
And I’m still aching like I used to be
But always searching for someone who’ll
Ah-oo
Hands that burrow looking for the keys
Soaked in sweat and possibility
Pins and needles hide behind my skin
Lips leave imprints pressed into the
Ah-oo
Ease just always dangles out of reach
Song reminds me of better things I’ve been
Just this once I want what I can’t be
Always wishing for something that
Ah-oo

fallacy
02:41
|
|||
I’ve known you for so long, but I know how it is you make your living
I’ve seen by the docks, stacking bricks, and building your own home
Looking around the room you’ve found a way to make this junk seem so pretty
You stack it like the muscles in your back, all twisted warm around the bone
I wouldn’t trade my tears for love
I’ve got an angst that tug-tug-tugs my mind from me
I wouldn’t trade my dirt for mud
The government won’t take my blood, they got a policy
And we wouldn’t want to break that would we?
You can stay here for the night if you’re OK with the fact that I’m so silly
I collect the things that make me whole until I let them go
You can test me all you want
with the bundled twigs I’ve snuggled up to. It’s a fallacy
that the love I want is never for me.

start
05:44
|

You can tie me up in knots because the
Ringing never stops
I hear it all night through
Like a constant kettle screaming in this
Pre-mature warm season you know
Flowers get beheaded when they bloom
When I’ve got no one to tell
All the inane mundane details
I’ve got a heavy heart
Cause there’ nowhere to unload it
Feels like I’m half exploding
Just the interior part
If you don’t start. Nothing will get started.
If you don’t call me now. There’s no one coming over.
If you don’t email all the people in your entire contact list
How are they supposed know about your party?
We all get lost sometimes
Sometimes we get lost in our own minds.
Sure I can pick out rhymes from reason
But I can’t explain away the waves that
Keep me awake all night
When there’s no one to distract me
Feel it rubberband back at me
When I turn off the light
If you don’t start. Nothing will get started.
If you don’t call me now. Then I’m not coming over.
If I don’t call all of the people in my entire fucking phone
How are gonna help with my fundraiser?
We all get lost sometimes
Sometimes we get lost in our own minds
I’m better now then not,
But there’s just one thing I forgot
To give myself what I deserve
Credit falls just where it’s due
And I would give it all to you
I’d give you everything I’d learned.
But if you don’t start. Nothing will get started.
If you don’t call me now you’re not coming over.
If I don’t tell all of my friends I feel alone
How are they supposed to feel sorry for me?
We all get lost sometimes
Sometimes we get lost in our own minds.
I’m sorry when I get lost behind my eyes

news from nowhere
04:49
|
|||
The lives we live on screen are ever-important
Digits make our dreams when they export them
Books split at the seams - by a thread that goes ‘round commenting
If we map everything, the world will be boring
When we get the news from nowhere
Then we’ll know just what to prove
Gather up the webs that bind us
And then use them to undo
The parade of idle images, that tell us we’re not true
If it’s an illusion I won’t believe
Technically I’m free. Free to ignore it
But waves can’t resist the sea any more than
Fools like you and me can think without collectively
Entwining memories into mass storage
More time than you’d believe lost in the wires
Robots fail to grieve or even tire
Of endless questioning of hearts and heads just wandering
A thought cacophony seeking each other
See what you can say... with you eyes
And sit through chills in your spine

forgetful

Forgetful
And I forget if I told you
This story already
I’m lost in confetti
And I forget if I owe you
For last Sunday’s dinner
We’ve all become sinners
If any piece of it survives, at least something’s hanging on
When every bit of me complies, it’s the only way I’ll know
Please lemme know I’m right, ‘cause I feel so wrong
And if, if I lose my mind, this time you’ll tell me so
And I forget if I’ve asked you
To repeat your story
We’ve just become boring
And I forget I know you
Forgive if I’m candid
I know you can’t stand it
If any piece of it survives, at least something’s hanging on
When every bit of me complies, it’s the only way I’ll know
Please lemme know I’m right, ‘cause I feel so wrong
And if, if I lose my mind, this time you’ll tell me so

timeless

Want what is timeless to be
Want what is timeless in me
Want what is timeless to be
Want what is timeless in me
Nothing wrong ain’t something right
I found the shadows in the night
I slip into the saltless sea
I hold my head and try and breath
I hide in sunshine and plain sight
If boundlessness requires fight
The broken branches bury trees
In philosophical diseases
Want what is timeless in me
Want what is timeless to be
Want what is timeless in me
Want what is timeless to be
Want what is timeless reason
Want what are timeless feelings
Want what is timeless being
Want what is timeless seeing
Remember breath and walk toward balance
Save my strength within the silence
The city street is broken teeth
Concrete pounding feet beneath
The endless taunting of machines
And wanton loss of empathy
Tempted by a fake escape
I’m haunted by the dreams I make

broken lullaby
03:25
|
|||
Bike spoke, chain smoke
Two taps from free delivery
Outside vibrates
Artificial lights glimmer
And you’ve got a tailgaters’ smile
I’ll burn through my mistakes with style
Watch prickles on my arms
Make factories of farms
Handshakes, earthquakes
Button down criminal paid leave
Twice sold, hand hold
Emergencies are local industry
The fate of the ice caps are fine
The idling car engines whine
Now liquid in my hands
Gets lost in grains of sand
Oh. Pick a time is was this easy
Oh. Pick a time it was this bad
Oh. At the moment we’re both breathing
The life that's best is the one we have
Make good on the garbage of the mind
Slow dance in a field of fireflies
We’re drifting without luck
What the ever-loving fuck

What happens when you leave town alone?

Do you feel like wind that’s yet to blow?

Do you sleep in the trees like a monkey does?

Yeah and no one is alive without somebody watching them

Can’t make a sound without people around, it’s like a tree in the forest

When it falls, I will never find the ground I will never find the ground

Do the leave on the trees just fall to their knees when they find out where you are?
G Dm F C G Am F
Do the leave on the trees just fall to their knees when they find out where you’ve gone?
What happens when you leave town alone
If you forget to record the moments that you’ve spent
Do they slip through the breeze like you wish that you could
Find the mouth of another, find your home in the woods,
Make the stories that we tell a little less realistic
If it happens to anybody just a statistics standing
In the kitchen of somebody else’s apartment looking
for the forks and knives but they’re not in the drawer
Where it feels like they should be so I’ll check in another
Find that pictures like a thousand words and memory’s not a number
Do I find that I leave when the fall comes to me?
Does my mind wander where I go?
You know the hardest things we do, we will do them alone.
So be careful where you go.
Just think about the leaves as they separate from me and find the ground that I’ve never found
